DIY Modern Christmas Wreath

Sooo… who’s gear upwards for Christmas?? If you’re next me on Instagram, you’ll know that we’ve already had a large dump of snowfall upwards hither inwards Northern Alberta (ugh… I know). It’s getting me inwards the mood for Christmas! Since our 12 Months of DIY Challenge was to role ribbon, I figured everyone would forgive me for i actually really early Christmas post! Right? It’s worth it for this Modern Christmas Wreath.

How to brand your ain Modern Christmas Wreath

Honestly, when I realized ribbon was this month’s item, I was pretty stumped. What volition I brand amongst ribbon? But the snowfall inspired me to brand a wreath then I went for it! I promise yous similar my modern accept on a Christmas wreath.

Materials: 

• Cricut Explore


• Vinyl (or merely a photograph to stencil)


• Plywood


• Scroll Saw


• 20″ Embroidery Hoop


• Black Spray Paint


• Velvet ribbon (black in addition to olive)


• Pine branch

To start, I used my Cricut Explore to cutting the stencils I wanted to role on my wreath.

Then came the fun part! I set my newly cutting vinyl stencils on overstep of my plywood in addition to traced them amongst a pencil. If yous don’t lead maintain a cricut, yous tin cutting out whatsoever shape on newspaper in addition to draw it onto the wood.  

Next, I used my scroll saw for the intricate cutting. Since I lead maintain a real fine blade (which I recommend using), I was able to cutting whatsoever angle. When the forest pieces are cutting out, yous tin drill a hole into them to draw the string through to hang the forest pieces up.

Next, I spray painted my embroidery hoop black, because I liked the contrast against my white front end door.

Finally, I gathered my velvet ribbon, pino branches, in addition to forest pieces, in addition to I used the infinite betwixt the 2 embroidery hoop rings to concur all of them inwards place. The branch was tied on amongst string at the dorsum instead.
