Master Bedroom Progress

Remember this inspiration board?!

I shared the plans for my Gold & Sage Master Bedroom a few weeks ago, too I’m hither today to give you lot a quick update on how the room has been coming along!

Just to remind you… here’s our dull Master Bedroom infinite earlier our makeover started.

It’s dark, too cramped, too boring.

We are purpose means through our main sleeping accommodation update too I couldn’t last to a greater extent than excited close the progress! We are moving to lighter too brighter (despite having to snuff it along black furniture…), too nosotros are doing it all on a budget!

The get-go matter nosotros wanted to tackle was the paint. So EVERYTHING had to exit the room. Now I was thinking, throw a layer of pigment on the wall… perchance two. Takes a couplet nights. Right?!

Wrong. My practical hubby reminded me that this was the best fourth dimension to pigment EVERYTHING. And too hence nosotros did. Ceilings. Baseboards. Window frames. Doors. Walls. They are ALL fresh too beautiful!

The motion icon below shows how vivid the novel Behr Cotton Knit pigment is compared to our one-time beige walls. The infinite feels soooo dissimilar already!

Next, nosotros purchased the much-needed wardrobe from Ikea. Now… nosotros practise already bring a walk-in closet… but it that actually plenty infinite for 2 people?!? Including a married adult woman alongside 2 amount sets of clothe (pregnant too not-pregnant, lol). Turns out it’s non plenty infinite for us. Enter wardrobe for the husband. It looks just similar this:

Then… my handy hubby couldn’t bring a wardrobe only sitting there… too hence he did what every handy hubby does, too built a DIY bulkhead to fill upward inward the infinite betwixt the wardrobe too the vaulted ceilings. He framed, drywalled, too puttied everything earlier nosotros started the icon process.

Here’s a sneak peak… non gonna lie… it looks amazing without the flyers too painters tape!

Once the icon was done, nosotros got started on the wallpapering. We bring a BEAUTIFUL textured wallpaper from Graham & Brown. I’d last lying if I said I wasn’t intimidated yesteryear this step, but I’m telling you, this was the EASIEST wallpaper install EVER!!

We slapped upward the entire large, vaulted characteristic wall inward 2.5 hours piece our miss napped! True story. My grandma’s jaw dropped when I told her. This is the hereafter of wallpaper! I cannot hold off to percentage a to a greater extent than detailed tutorial alongside you lot when the wall is all done! Here’s to a greater extent than or less other sneak peak for now…

• Buy too construct an Ikea wardrobe


• Purchase a chair for the window


• Make window coverings


• Buy stuff too stitch pillow covers


• Make a DIY mirror


• Find/thrift to a greater extent than or less metallic element accessories to decorate


• Find, thrift, brand or buy something (art? frame?) to fill upward up our huge characteristic wall behind the bed (ideas please!)


• Add to a greater extent than or less candles :)

Additions to the initial list:

• Paint ceiling, baseboards, window frames too doors


• Make Bulkhead to become inward a higher house novel wardrobe


• Print photos to fill upward frames


• Find lighting to supervene upon bulky lamps on side tables?


• Find or knit a throw for the bed

If you’re wondering… here’s my immediate adjacent step. We are icon too revamping these Ikea bedside tables to add together to a greater extent than or less colour to the room!
