Alphabet Blocks
I’ve had these blocks from CTMH for over a yr now… simply sitting on my shelf, waiting to live on used. Then I came across the Take Heart Ideas challenge, too I was in conclusion inspired to practice something for my infant miss :)
The challenge this calendar month is to practice something schoolhouse related (perfect September challenge!). The alone occupation is that my infant miss doesn’t learn to schoolhouse yet!
I stimulate got zip schoolhouse related to create, but I figured that I could brand her something that is preparing her for schoolhouse inwards the future!
So I decided to brand her unopen to alphabet blocks! Prepare her for schoolhouse yesteryear working on letters, spelling, too reading :)
Here are the blocks I started out alongside (now discontinued):
[note: you lot could easily substitute unopen to wooden blocks that you lot brand or purchase at the local arts and crafts store]
Materials:
(all CTMH unless otherwise stated)
9 Blocks
Dream popular newspaper pack (discontinued)
Art philosophy cricut cartridge
Matte modernistic podge
Mod podge spray sealer (optional)
The showtime pace was to cutting out a bunch 2″x2″ squares of background newspaper (or any size your blocks are). I originally cutting out patterned newspaper every bit well, but too thence scraped it inwards favour of adding to a greater extent than letters too increasing the spelling potential!
Then I used my cricut to cutting out a whole ton of letters that were max 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ thence that they would stand upwardly for inside the blocks every bit well.
Then I spent unopen to fourth dimension planning out which letters went on which blocks, I wanted to brand surely that I had every pose out of the alphabet at to the lowest degree once, addition the numbers 1 through 9. Then, I wanted to brand surely I could spell surely words, such every bit my daughters mention (Eleanor) too nickname (Ellie), too the dogs’ names, too mom & dad, etc. etc.
Once I had it all planned out I glued the background pieces on alongside modernistic podge (thin layer below too on top), too and thence glued the letters/numbers on top.
Finally, I sprayed the blocks alongside Mod Podge Sealer – simply to brand extra surely that the letters won’t peal off of the blocks.
Here are a few pictures of unopen to words. I’m actually pleased alongside how they turned out!
Hope you lot similar them!
I’m all cook to learn this miss a few things!!
{xoxo}
