Mod Podge Recipe Box

I bring never owned a recipe box. Never.

My mother in law told me I should purchase one, but instead I decided to brand one!

All of the private tasks weren’t difficult, but it felt similar it took a land to complete it because I had to continue stepping away to allow things dry out or settle in addition to coming dorsum the adjacent day. Lots of footling steps.

Here are the materials I used:

Wooden box (I bought i from Michaels)

mod podge & paintbrush

spray paint

scissors

pencil

scrapbook newspaper of your selection (I used Clementine coordinating newspaper from Close To My Heart)

piece of cardboard

workable fixatif spray (if desired)

any decorative elements you lot wish (I used a mistaken keyhole in addition to brads)

Instructions

1. Remove hardward from wooden box

2. Spray pigment along exterior in addition to within of box. Two coats required at least. I used a cream colour.

3. Measure in addition to cutting newspaper to fit closed to the lid, on move past times of the lid and the exterior border of the box (tracing may move to a greater extent than effective). I also cutting a slice to fit within the lid when it’s open.

4. Adhere all papers using modern podge. Smooth out whatsoever air bubbles amongst your hands. Allow to dry.

5. Use the cardboard to cutting out a desired cast for the move past times of the box (e.g. a diamond). I used my cricut to cutting out an interesting shape. Cut scrapbook newspaper to fit cardboard shape.

6. Stamp words onto move past times shape. I wrote “family recipes” amongst a lite chocolate-brown ink in addition to dissimilar missive of the alphabet stencils. You could also easily impress the words you lot wish to purpose from the cumputer direct onto your scrapbook newspaper earlier you lot cutting it.

7. If desired, spray the inked department amongst workable fixatif (to foreclose ink from bleeding). Allow to dry.

8. Add move past times cast to box, in addition to whatsoever decorative elements you lot desire. I position brads on the edges of the move past times slice in addition to thence that it flowed amongst the residuum of the pattern nicely. (see below)

Not as quick in addition to muddied as some of my other projects, but every bit nice! I honey how it turned out.
